Dear Old Thomians and Friends, The most anticipated event of the year in the Sri Lankan schools sporting calendar would have to be the Battle of the Blues. As most of you are aware the 138th annual Battle of the Blues will be held at the SSC on the 9th, 10th and 11th of March. In the past, the OBA has supported this event by way of providing the match balls and once again our support for this event has been requested. The coach of the Thomian 1st X1 cricket team, Dinesh Kumarasinghe, has requested the donation 6 (six) Kookaburra match balls. These balls are the same as what is currently used in all 1st Class and Test matches in Sri Lanka. The match balls will be used for the practice game preceding the “Big Match” and for the “Big Match” itself. The estimated cost of each ball is approximately $120. The committee would like to call upon your generosity to help us support this request. If you are able to support, please do so by submitting your donations to the below mentioned OBA account using the reference “Cricket Balls”. Please note that any funds collected over and above the required amount will be allocated to the same project in 2018. Former EXCO member Pramu Rodrigo will facilitate the delivery of the balls to the team. Account Name: STC OBA BSB: 063-151 Account #: 10029468 Reference: "Cricket Balls" If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact any of the EXCO members. The Committee thanks you sincerely for your support. -- ... See more
